These terms explain the deal between you and Spendhog: what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you in return.

01Agreement to these terms

By creating a Spendhog account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you are using Spendhog on behalf of your household, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for the members you invite.

    02What Spendhog is

Spendhog is a tool for managing personal and household finances. You record your own income and spending, by hand or by importing a file, and Spendhog organises it into accounts, categories, budgets, goals and upcoming bills, then shows charts, a forecast and a health score. It does not connect to your bank, and it does not hold or move money.

03Use, and what we ask of you

The application is intended for personal use. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for keeping your password secure. You must be at least 16 to create an account, and if you are under 18 you need your parent or guardian's agreement to take out a paid subscription.

You agree not to use Spendhog for unlawful purposes or to infringe anyone's rights, not to attempt to reach another account's data, and not to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service. If these terms are broken we may suspend writing on the account: you keep being able to read and export your data, and we tell you why.

        04Your data

The financial data you enter belongs to you. It is tied to your account and isolated from other accounts. You grant us the limited permission needed to store and process it so we can provide the service. Export regularly for backup. How we handle it is described in the Privacy Policy.

          05Not financial advice

Spendhog gives you information about your own money, including forecasts and comparisons. It provides organisation and calculation tools; it does not constitute financial, tax, investment or legal advice, and forecasts are estimates, not guarantees. You remain responsible for your financial decisions.

            06Subscription, billing and refunds

Spendhog offers a 30-day free trial, no card required. After it ends, creating and editing data requires a paid subscription, monthly or yearly, which renews automatically until cancelled. Reading and exporting your own data stay open either way.

The first 30 households to subscribe keep a reduced founder rate for as long as their subscription stays active. It is counted per household, not per person, and a place is taken by the first payment: the trial reserves no place, someone who joins another person's household by invitation takes no place and does not gain the founder rate if they later subscribe on their own, and the place of a cancelled subscription does not become free again. After those, the normal rate applies. The rates in force are shown on our pricing page and in the app before you pay.

You can cancel at any time in Settings, Account, Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, and you keep access until then.

Payments are processed by Paddle (merchant of record), who handles billing and any applicable taxes. Refunds: if you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 14 days of payment, via the in-app Feedback form or info@spendhog.com. The purchase contract is concluded with Paddle as merchant of record; the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies to consumers in the EU, the EEA and the UK, and is honoured; Switzerland has no such right for online purchases, so there the 14 days we give are our own promise. The refund policy above applies to everyone.

              07Availability and changes

We work to keep Spendhog available and reliable, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, especially during early access. We may add, change or remove features, and we will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.

                08No warranty, and liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from its use, including data loss, nor for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

                  09Termination

You can delete your account and your data at any time in Settings, Account, Danger zone. Deletion is permanent and immediate. If the owner deletes their account, the household and its whole ledger are deleted with it, for every member; the other members keep their own logins, each with a new, empty household of their own. Deleting an account cancels any subscription at once, and the unused part of the period paid for is not refunded, except within the 14-day refund described in clause 6.

                    10AI assistant

The application includes an AI assistant that answers questions about your finances. It is off by default and only works with your explicit consent, given on the assistant's own page; without that activation, none of your data is sent to AI providers. Answers are generated automatically, can contain errors and do not constitute financial advice, always confirm figures on the application's pages. The assistant's data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.

                      11Privacy

We do not sell your data. Exchange rates are fetched from a public service (ECB via Frankfurter) without sending your personal data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

                        12Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, where Spendhog is operated, and the courts at our Swiss domicile have jurisdiction. If you use Spendhog as a consumer, this does not take away the mandatory protections of the law of your home country, or your right to bring a claim before the courts there where that law allows.

                          13Legal notice, contact and updates

Spendhog is operated by Valentino Baptista, Tösswiesenstrasse 35, 8413 Neftenbach, Switzerland. Contact: info@spendhog.com.

We may update these terms as Spendhog evolves. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
