Refund Policy

Last updated 7 September 2026

The short version: if Spendhog is not for you, ask within 14 days of a payment and you get all of it back. The rest of this page says who pays it, how long it takes, and what happens to your account afterwards.

01Fourteen days, the whole payment

Any payment to Spendhog is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of it. That covers your first payment and every renewal after it. You do not have to give a reason, and your account does not have to be in any particular state: one you used every day for those two weeks is refunded on the same terms as one you never opened.

The whole payment comes back, not a part worked out from the days you used.

    02Most people never need this

Spendhog starts with 30 days free and asks for no card, so the usual way to find out it is not for you costs nothing and needs no refund at all. A payment only ever happens after a month of the real thing.

03Who you buy from, and who pays it back

Payments are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Your purchase contract for the subscription is with Paddle, your receipt comes from Paddle, and Paddle collects whatever VAT or sales tax is owed where you live.

So the refund is paid by Paddle, back to the card or account the money came from. We approve it, they move it. Once approved it usually arrives within 3 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

        04Renewals, and cancelling

A subscription renews by itself, monthly or yearly, until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in the app, under Settings, Account, Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps your access until the end of the period you have already paid for. It is not a refund, and in the ordinary case it does not need to be.

A renewal you did not want is refundable like any other payment: ask within 14 days of that charge and the whole of it comes back.

          05Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. Nothing here takes that away. Switzerland has no such right for online purchases: Swiss law gives a cooling-off period only for doorstep and telephone sales. There, the 14 days above are our promise rather than the law's, and they hold exactly the same. This policy sits on top of the law where there is one, and goes further in the way that matters in practice: the same 14 days apply to every renewal, not only to the first payment.

            06After a refund

The subscription ends and the account goes back to what it is without one: you can still open Spendhog, read everything in it and export all of it, whenever you like. Nothing is locked away or deleted because you asked for your money back.

If you want the data gone as well, say so and we delete the account and everything in it. How that works is in the Privacy Policy.

              07How to ask

Write to info@spendhog.com from the address on the account, or use the Feedback form inside the app, and say which payment you mean. We answer within two working days and, in the ordinary case, approve it the same day. You can also ask Paddle directly, as the merchant of record, from the receipt they sent you.
